I've seen it so many times. Entrepreneurs and Nonprofit leaders are already busy trying to run things. Managing the marketing in the business can become cumbersome, inconsistent and downright exhausting if you don't have the right tools. Firefly Strategies uses several marketing management tools to help clients streamline their marketing and create systems that save time and bring in results.
Below we share our top 5 marketing management tools along with links to access those tools right away so you can start producing consistent, relationship building marketing campaigns that save a lot of time, help grow marketing productivity and bring in BIG results for your business or organization...
Tool 1. Social media posting and scheduling tool - Hootsuite.com
Go to Hootsuite.com and register for this free tool as soon as possible. Hootsuite is a social media post scheduling tool. You can create and schedule all of your posts in advance and save hours of time. Most business owners I know end up spending time every single day trying to come up with posts, posting them, they end posting a bunch of them all at once, and then waste time getting caught up in the newsfeed. Or, you just make a few posts every day one or twice a week with no engagement and thought put into it which is a huge waste of time and energy. Ineffective marketing is the biggest money suck in your business. Instead spend one hour each week doing the following. Spend 20 to 30 minutes brainstorming high quality posts that are interesting and engaging. Spend another 20 minutes scheduling posts in Hootsuite. You should have one post for every day of the week including weekends. Finally, spend another 20 minutes engaging with pages and fans that are your ideal customers.
Tool 2. Press release distribution tool - PRweb.com
Creating and using PRweb.com is a great way to direct more traffic to your website. Whenever you create a press release to send to the media or reporters, also publish that press release online via PRweb. You can insert your keywords into the press release therefore optimizing for search engines. The keywords should match what you have on your website this way they are matched and Google makes those keywords and your website more relevant in their searches. Do this regularly and it's free to get started with PRweb.com.
Tool 3. SEO keyword tool - Google Keyword Tool also known as Keyword Planner
Speaking of keywords. If you haven't already done this, use the Google Keyword Tool to choose the most effective keywords for your business. The tool provides great insights into the ones that are already too hard to acquire and use vs. those that get pretty good search results and don't have heavy competition attached to them.
Tool 4. Website email list building tool - Sumo.me list builder
Though website popups aren't my most favorite thing in the world, I have tolerated and even liked those that are done tastefully and timed in a manner that makes sense. We end up adding popoups to our clients sites and after driving more traffic to their site, we see a rise in people signing up to the email list. There is a great, again free, tool that we use called Sumo Me to easily create and add the popups to the website.
Tool 5. Email marketing tool - Mailchimp
Our favorite marketing tool for email marketing and management is Mailchimp. Their editor is so simple to use, their email templates are clean and beautiful. They are also free for up to 2000 subscribers. If you want to get sophisticated with your email marketing (which we recommend doing) you can pay a small monthly free to get access to various services such as autoresponders for your account. If you are sending out emails the old fashion way, then don't hesitate any longer and get Mailchimp, the email marketing client that we 100% recommend.
Good marketing management does take time, but it doesn't have to take as much time and energy as you think. With the right tools and planning, you can dramatically cut the time you spend on marketing management. Go check out the tools we recommend above and let us know if you have any questions.
